First why choose this journal? Because teaching journals are
good character narrative text through storytelling is very easy to understand
and in this journal teaches a character of good respect in a narrative text
through fairy tales and here students' response to the teaching. Here also the
participants of this study were to collect and identify data and use
qualitative methods determined. That is descriptive analysis through observation,
questionnaires and analysis documents as a document of analysis of research
instruments. In the work of Ellis and Brewster (1991) which are relatively good
for teaching the character of good respect in a narrative text through
storytelling, there are three steps, namely the pre-storytelling step, during
storytelling and after storytelling. And such steps make students learn the
character of good respect. in response, almost all students showed a positive
response to storytelling assistance in teaching good character with respect in
narrative texts through storytelling. And this teaching model is useful for
myself, who will later become a teacher to teach the character of good respect
in the narrative through telling more stories.
Second, I will explain the introduction of this journal.
INTRODUCTION
In the Indonesian education system, the application of
character education has become a major problem since the request of the
Ministry of Education and Culture (Ministry of Education and Culture of the
Republic of Indonesia). Effendy — stated that one of the programs called
"Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter" (PPK) was the main objective of the
increase in the national education system, relating to various key government
programs. In this regard, the Ministry of Education and Culture stressed that
the learning process was based on strengthening character and integrated in
schools and outside schools through PPK that was able to show competitive young
generation and good character quality. Herlina (2012) states that in the
regulation of the Minister of National Education Number 22.23, and 24 students
are required to produce high characters not only produce high intellectuals,
and teachers should not take into account their methods of teaching but with
the good character of students produced. Therefore, teaching good character to
students is one of the efforts in applying and integrating character education
in Indonesian schools and done by teachers. Herlina also stated that students'
character needs to be considered by teachers when teaching them a good
character knowledge and integrating in teaching and learning materials. On this
matter, by teaching good character through storytelling in teaching languages,
especially teaching English, which has been applied as a teaching-learning tool
(Rahim & Rahiem, 2012). In good character teaching it is also used as a
teaching vocabulary and structure, storytelling also has the ability to
maintain students' emotional intelligence and storytelling so that students get
responses about the human attitude itself (Samantaray, 2014). Therefore, storytelling is considered as the right tool to teach character to both students
and teachers throughout Indonesia are
required to use as a tool to teach good character to students.
Maybe quite so from the first discussion I can write for
today, hopefully it will be useful and increase your insight to read more about
the journal.
Thankyou Everyone-
